Ritz Azul, at first glance, seems very prim and proper.
But believe it or not, she actually likes to spend her days doing the not-so-girly stuff, like cars and bikes.
"Driving, [mahilig] ako sa driving," Ritz told PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) in an interview.
On Twitter, she even described herself as someone who loves "to ride motorbikes and love to travel around."
Some people, she said, have been asking her, "Bakit driving ang napili mo, e, 'di ba pang-lalake 'yon?"
But since her early teens, she has taken to driving a car or motorcycle.
Yes, including big bikes.
The Kapatid actress related, "Oo, nag-try ako dati ng big bike kaso nahirapan ako so ang dina-drive ko ngayon, mga Wave, mga maliliit na motor lang."
It might come as a shock to her fans, but to the ones closest to her, Ritz's name has become almost synonymous to a noisy two-wheeler.
Smiling, she said, "Sa amin, basta may narinig na dumadating na naka-motor, sasabihin nila agad, 'O, si Ritz na 'yan.'"
HER FIRST CAR. So it's no wonder that she chose to invest a portion of her income to a brand new red Hyundai Accent sedan.
"Kasi 'yon 'yong parang talagang...necessity ng isang artista talaga 'yong car kasi usually parang 'yon doon na siya natutulog.
"Lalo na kapag locations na sobrang malalayo, kailangan talaga ng personal car kasi mahirap kung magco-commute ka or mag-aarkila ka ng car. Ang hirap kasi pag gano'n."
Her car, according to the young star, is her "mini house" these days.
"Lahat na ng gamit ko, nandoon na talaga. Sobrang useful sa akin nung car kaya 'yon 'yong una kong binili.
"Ang nangyayari minsan, natutulog na ako sa kotse kaya talaga parang mini house ko na tuloy iyong kotse."
