Movies to TV na ang pinaka-trend ng mga bagong shows sa television.

From Mexican canned soaps to fantasy then to Korean canned soaps, old movies being turned to TV series na ang pinakabagong trend ngayon.

Ilan sa mga nauna rito ay ang Panday (Jericho Rosales recreated the Fernando Poe Jr. character), Kampanerang Kuba (starring Anne Curtis reprising the Vilma Santos character) both from ABS-CBN, at Bakekang (Sunshine Dizon playing the role of Nora Aunor) from GMA-7 naman. GMA-7's Mga Kuwento Ni Lola Basyang was also first seen sa big screen bago sa TV.

Dahil some of the classic movies are also from the komiks, sama na rin dito ang Pedro Penduko (Matt Evans as the Ramon Zamora character), pati na ang iba pang naipalabas na sa Komiks Presents ng ABS-CBN.

Recently, both GMA-7 and ABS-CBN announced their respective umbrella series, Sine Novela and Sine Serye.

Nabili ng Siete ang rights ng ilang pelikula ng Viva Films like Sinasamba Kita (Vilma, Christopher de Leon, and Lorna Tolentino) na siyang pinakaunang gagawin to be directed by Joel Lamangan. Also in line are Gaano Kadalas Ang Minsan? (Vilma, Hilda Koronel, and the late Dindo Fernando), Dapat Ka Bang Mahalin? (Sharon Cuneta and Gabby Concepcion), and Saan Darating Ang Umaga? (Maricel Soriano and Nida Blanca).

Mga Regal movies naman ang balak bilhin ng Dos for their umbrella series, although ang first two projects, Palimos Ng Pag-ibig (Vilma, Edu Manzano, and Dina Bonnevie) and Hiram Na Mukha (Nanette Medved) are also from Viva Films. Palimos will star Rica Peralejo, Kristine Hermosa, and Diether Ocampo. Naka-poste naman sina Heart Evangelista at Geoff Eigenman for Hiram.

Hindi pumuwede ang ilang old movies ng Regal Films, particularly ang Sinungaling Mong Puso (Vilma Santos and Aga Muhlach) and Relasyon (Vilma Santos and Christopher de Leon) for confidential reason, as of this writing.

May another trend na sumasabay sa movies-turned-soap opera and comics-turned-TV show, ang remake of old TV shows and radio serials starting with Maria Flordeluna ng ABS-CBN na nag-e-air na at susundan ng Mga Mata Ni Anghelita for GMA-7.
